Police are fearing retaliation after a homeowner shot and killed an armed intruder in Inkster, Michigan Thursday night.
According to police reports the man saw several people taking his belongings and putting them into their vehicle. The man who was renting the home at the time approached the men who were stealing his possessions and that’s when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him in the leg.
But the resident pulled out his own firearm and shot the suspect who later died at the hospital. The other accomplices in the crime ran off when the resident began firing and police are still on the lookout for the other suspects.
The suspect who was shot and killed was 23-years-old.
Local police plan to step up patrols in the area, fearing retaliation from the shooting.
