It’s only been a few weeks since Jack in the Box under pressure from Moms Demand Action decided to ask gun owners to leave their guns at home. And already since that time the chain has been robbed at gunpoint at least 4 times, some even being shot in the process.
Yesterday at 2am a Houston area Jack in the Box was robbed at gunpoint once again, with yet another criminal ignoring the “gun free zone” and failing to oblige the chain’s polite request to keep guns out of their stores.
According to Your Houston News,
Police are asking for help identifying a possible suspect in an armed robbery. The robbery occurred around 2 a.m. Monday, June 9. One white male subject held employees at gunpoint shortly after 2 a.m. at the Jack in the Box on North Main in Liberty.
The subject appeared to be a white male, early 20’s, wearing grey shorts with black stripes down the side. He was also wearing a red fitted shirt, grey tennis shoes with grey and black socks, black hat and a black backpack.
No one was hurt in the incident and it is estimated the suspect got away with a little over $400.
It was just days after the “no guns” announcement was made that a drug dealer shot a man at a Jack in the Box in Nashville, Tennessee.
Most recently 4 armed men with gloves and masks walked into a Jack in the Box in Houston and robbed both employees and customers as they were eating lunch. In a state where it seems like almost everyone has a gun, it appears the crooks knew what they were doing and that no law abiding citizen would be armed in this newly fashioned “gun free zone”.
Many have blamed open carry activists for triggering anti-gun groups to put pressure on the fast food chain to get involved in the gun debate, but the restaurant’s decision to ban guns from its stores has only drawn more attention to the fact that criminals ignore these policies and laws, making any who patronize these places more vulnerable.
Gun owners from across the country have vowed to not eat at Jack in the Box until the company changes its policy, and the void of good guys with guns has been filled with bad guys with guns.
Below is the statement Jack in the Box put out after it decided that gun owners were not welcome:
Creating a warm and inviting environment for all of our guests and employees is a top priority for Jack in the Box. The presence of guns inside a restaurant could create an uncomfortable situation for our guests and employees and lead to unintended consequences. While we respect the rights of all our guests, we would prefer that guests not bring their guns inside our restaurants.
