An Idaho man says his concealed carry permit saved not only his life, but also his 2 year old daughters this past week. The incident was first reported by King5 News.
Anthony Broyles, a former Marine, said that his military training gave him a sixth sense when it comes to threat assessment and he was glad he was packing heat that day. He was out for a fun day with his 2 year old daughter at Higgins Point when a man approached them holding out a knife.
Broyles said that the man asked him if he had any money and also thought that he was going to kidnap his daughter.
The former Marine, who received his Idaho concealed carry permit in 2014, pulled out his 380 LCP Ruger.
Broyles said, “I pushed my daughter back, pulled out my weapon, cocked it and aimed it at him. It did 100 percent save my life. If I didn’t have my pistol today I’m pretty sure I would have been dead”.
The sheriff’s office in Kootenai County said that Broyles had every right to defend himself if he thought that his life was in danger.
It is legal to carry a gun in an exposed holder without a permit in that sates of Idaho and Washington. There are a few exceptions such as schools and courtrooms.
