Just in case you needed another reason to carry, there is a report out of Neptune Beach, Florida about a “Knockout Game” attacker asking a man if he was carrying a gun before punching him.
The man was walking down a Neptune Beach street on the night of July 31 when 4 men came up to him and asked him if he had a “glock”. When the man said that he was unarmed, he was punched in the face in the latest instance of the “knockout game”.
Although a Glock is a specific type of firearms manufacturer, it is a generic term that many on the street use to describe any handgun.
A witness on hand saw the attack and called 911. She said that the man was punched without provocation as he was walking along the beach.
Police were able to track down the attacker who was identified as a 15 year old male. He was arrested when the victim identified him to police.
The “knockout game” has been going around for several years in many different cities. It is a game that is often carried out by teenagers who try to knock out a target unconscious. The victims are usually random and several have died from the attacks.
