Isn’t it amazing that the same ones who are trying to cram gun control down our throats are the same ones who keep revealing their ignorance on the very guns they want to ban.
CNN’s Don Lemon was clearly not prepared to answer a question about automatic weapons. The question about automatic weapons arises as Lemon goes on a discourse about how anyone can buy an automatic weapon and how even he himself is able to get an automatic weapon. He then says that the Aurora, Colorado shooter used automatic firearms in the theater shooting. And no, none of these things are true.
So of course the obvious question came from the conservative guest on CNN, Ben Ferguson, when the radio talk show host asked, “What is your definition of an automatic weapon?”.
“For me, an automatic weapon is anything that you can shoot off a number of rounds very quickly. I was able to buy an AR-15 in 20 minutes,” Lemon said.
That’s when Ferguson jumped all over his obvious ignorance.
“With all due respect, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” the radio host shot back. “An automatic weapon is when you pull the trigger one time and it continually shoots off one after another, after another.”
But Lemon kept pushing forward on his argument, claiming that he can do exactly that with the AR-15 that he purchased in Colorado and accusing Ferguson of “getting into semantics.” It should be noted that fully automatic firearms are highly regulated in the United States and practically impossible for most people to obtain.
“Let me finish, Ben. But listen. I think you are getting into semantics. Regardless of what you want to call it, an automatic or a semi-automatic weapon.”
“It’s a big deal,” Ferguson interrupted. “It’s the difference between breaking the law and not breaking the law.”
