Colorado gun owners are not happy with their political leaders in the state, and lawmakers are starting to feel the backlash of their anti-gun votes. First we saw the recall petition for John Morse (D) get double the signatures
11,285 signatures were needed to force a recall election for Giron, and so far organizers have obtained over 13,500 signatures to turn in to the Secretary of State who will examine the names and verify them.
Of course, the anti-gun democrats in the state will delay the election as long as possible by denying the validity of the signatures through a long legal process, but the Pueblo Freedom and Rights Group is known for being meticulous in their efforts in making sure the signatures are valid, and with over 2,000 signatures more than needed, Giron has reason to be nervous.
If the count on the petition is still over 11,285 Senator Giron will have 5 days to decide if she will resign or run in the recall election. So far she is saying she will “fight it”.
Meanwhile the Mayor of NYC, Michael Bloomberg, has been pouring money into the state of Colorado to support the restrictive and unconstitutional gun control laws that the state just passed. The anti-gun mayor wants to us CO as a model for the rest of the country, so a defeat in a recall election will have serious repercussions for other states trying to ram gun control down the people’s throats.
If either or both Angela Giron and John Morse are successfully recalled, they will be the first in Colorado’s history. And gun owners are very motivated in the state and they are eager to vote.
The secretary of state’s office is expected to complete the verification process of voter signatures to recall Morse this Friday. After that Morse and his staff will have two weeks to question the validity of any remaining suspect signatures before the recall election takes place.
Victor Head, President of Pueblo Freedom and Rights, had this to say about Angela Giron’s part in Colorado’s new gun laws.
“Giron’s disregard for the majority of her constituents to vote no on anti-2nd Amendment issues and her general disregard of our Constitution and the rights of the citizens of Colorado demonstrates she must be removed from the senate.”
