Police are calling a concealed carry permit holder a hero after he confronted armed attackers in a Las Vegas Walmart and was shot in the process.
Jerad and Amanda Miller had just killed two police officers who were having lunch at CiCi’s when they entered the Walmart.
The two were carrying 4 handguns, a shotgun, and 200 rounds of ammo when they walked into Walmart. They obviously wanted to carry out more atrocities in the retail store before being stopped by the concealed carrier.
Joseph Robert Wilcox confronted Jerad Miller with his firearm, but was unaware that Amanda Miller was also involved.
According to Review Journal,
After the shooting, the couple headed toward a nearby Wal-Mart, where Jerad Miller was confronted by Joseph Robert Wilcox, 31, of Las Vegas. Wilcox was legally carrying a concealed pistol. Wilcox was unaware that Amanda Miller, who was pushing a shopping cart, was involved in the incident and “lying in wait,” the official said.
“He had no idea the wife was walking behind him,” the police official said of the murdered man. “This guy (Wilcox) was not some idiot with a gun. To me, he was a hero. He was trying to stop an active shooter.”
Who knows how many lives in Walmart were saved because of the actions of Wilcox. And while some will blame him for getting involved or even getting himself killed in the process, we agree with the Las Vegas police that he was a hero. The good guy with the gun never got to fire a shot but he undoubtedly stopped others from being shot that day.
Notice how this news outlet in the video below completely left out the part about a concealed carry permit holder confronting the two shooters. They simply skip over this part saying that one person was shot in Walmart.
