Who knows what have happened to the aspirations of Bill Clinton to become president had his childhood drawing been revealed to the world. In the Clinton Presidential Center there hangs on a wall a drawing from 1952. Singed by Billy Clinton, the crayon drawing depicts the former president’s favorite film, High Noon.
In the picture it’s hard to miss the large guns in the hands of four men who are pointing their guns at one man who also has a gun. In recent days school children have been suspended or severely punished for much less.
We have reported on some of the ridiculous actions of school administrators after some kids were suspended for pretending a pencil was a gun, bringing a quarter sized LEGO gun to school, eating a pastry into the shape of a gun, and even just talking about guns on a school bus. All of these kids were punished, but this “kid” gets his crayon drawing displayed for all to see.
I actually think it’s a pretty good drawing. The question is are kids allowed to draw images like this today? And if they aren’t allowed, does that really make them safer?
Just thought it would be a fun little fact to share. Feel free to leave any comments below.
