Thanks to gun control laws signed in California this year any purchaser of a rifle or shotgun after January 1st, 2014 will have to register that gun and be added to the state’s registry.
According to CBS in Sacramento some gun stores in California are seeing an increase in sales up to 50% with long guns.
The registry goes into effect on Jan. 1, and would require long gun owners to register their weapons like handgun owners already do. It would track the make, model and serial number of the gun, as well as the person who owns it.
Gun owners don’t like their 2nd amendment rights being attacked, but they also don’t like their privacy being taken away. But as more gun control laws get passed it seems that gun control activists are intent on taking away the privacy of every gun owner.
“These are law-abiding citizens,” Just Guns owner John Deaser said. “They’re not trying to beat the system or anything like that. They just don’t want to be tracked.”
Why track gun owners? Because it makes it easier to take away their guns down the road when anti-gunners decide a certain gun is no longer “safe” in the hands of a law abiding citizen. It’s happened before and it will happen again unless gun owners start voting out these control-freak politicians.
Meanwhile criminals all across the state of California will undoubtedly ignore the state’s gun registry.
Supporters of the new California law say this will help keep guns out of the wrong hands. But they don’t explain how because they don’t have any evidence that their theory is correct.
But one thing is for certain. Once again out of control gun control laws have only encouraged citizens to buy more guns before these laws go into effect. But if these laws continue to follow their current course, there won’t be any more legal guns to purchase.
