Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is calling on voters to make gun control the main issue in Iowa this week.
Her shrill voice rose above a crowd of 1,200 as she angrily railed against the gun lobby and emphasized how badly we need more gun control in order to stop mass shootings.
According to the WashingtonPost, Clinton wants gun control on the minds of every voter.
“What is wrong with us?” Clinton said. “How can we continue to ignore the toll that this is taking on our children and our country!”
She proposed that supporters of gun control measures should adopt a tactic employed by opponents, some of whom vote for candidates based solely on their position on gun control.
“None of it will stick if it’s not a voting issue,” Clinton said. “As you go to caucus Monday night, please think about this.”
Clinton studiously avoided any mention of her opponent Bernie Sanders’s positions on gun legislation, but her campaign has relentlessly hammered the Vermont senator on his past votes against gun control measures, calling him a “reliable vote” for the gun lobby.
I wholeheartedly agree. Voters SHOULD make gun control a main issue in voting… both in Iowa and the rest of the country.
If voters realize that gun control has not stopped any mass shootings but good guys with guns are the only ones who ever put an end to an active shooter situations, they will most assuredly avoid any support for either democratic candidate.
It’s interesting that as Hillary continues to blame guns for everything wrong in America, one of the places Republicans will be caucusing at is at an actual gun shop, Skunk River Arms Gun Shop in Hayesville, Iowa. The gun shop has an inventory of about 1,200 firearms.
