Federal law mandates that all toy guns have orange tips to distinguish them from real guns, but in this case the orange tip had been removed. Of course the court official in the video below does not talk about cases in which toy guns have been used to prevent crimes, like the instance last week where a mom used an airsoft gun to stop an intruder.
It seems like anti-gun folks just wait for stories like this so they can exploit the snot out of them, instead of looking at the broader picture. One of the men interviewed in the video even wants water guns banned, because apparently that is contributing to the gun violence in the city.
If anyone thinks that raiding every home in Baltimore in the middle of the night to take away every child’s toy gun will stop gun violence, then that person should probably not be in charge of making these types of decisions, nevermind a court official. Maybe if we actually went after the criminals who have real guns, we would not be so worried about little kids squirting water at each other in the summer heat.
