We must emphasize the importance of learning to aim and fire under pressure. If you are going to stop a home invader you need to hit them when you fire the weapon in order to cease the threat on you and your families lives.
It is a good thing that this invader wasn’t a more serious threat or this story would have different headlines.
KOB news reports that Santa Fe police said a burglar was shot at by a homeowner in the 1700 block of Agua Fria Street in Santa Fe.
A homeowner called 911 just before noon saying he had fired a shot at an intruder. Shortly after, the intruder, identified as Erica Duran, 32, was located without incident on Maez Road.
Police say Duran broke a window at the residence and armed herself with a piece of glass.
Duran is linked to other suspicious activity in the area and attempted to burglarize several residences in the same neighborhood.
Duran is charged with attempt to commit a felony, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, concealing identification, criminal trespass, and criminal damage to property.
Remember, if you see something suspicious in your neighborhood in Santa Fe, do not hesitate to the call the police, you can utilize the non-emergency number (505) 428-3710 or if it is an emergency call 911.
The other option is to shoot on sight. We prefer the last option since the police are not usually there when the person is coming in the window.
