A 31-year-old Kansas P.E. teacher was arrested yesterday after another teacher in the school spotted him with a gun.
Daniel Nagel has a valid carry permit in Kansas and his family members said that he was carrying the gun to school to protect the children of the school.
But while his permit allows him to carry his firearm in most public places, Kansas has not yet caught up with the times to enable teachers to carry.
Nowadays schools care more about being politically correct and “sensitive” to irrational opinions than actually doing what it takes to protect their schools.
It’s for the very fact that these gun-free zones are more susceptible to violence that some states like Utah
Nagel has been put on administrative leave while Kansas officials investigate the incident. Watch the news video of this story below:
Seems to me that the guy who reported Nagel should be the one that’s investigated. After all, does he have a problem with seeing the kids of his school protected from crazed criminals?
This year, the state Legislature passed a law that allows school districts to designate an employee to carry a gun. But the Wichita district has not addressed the issue, and all seven board members have said they would not support an employee carrying a gun.
