A movie producer has stated that his new film project will make the NRA “wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”
The demonization of the NRA continues as anti-gun activists reveal their ignorance of history and sound reasoning. Movie producer, Harvey Weinstein has announced on Howard Stern’s radio show that he is making a movie that will destroy the NRA as we know it.
According to the Washington Times article by Emily Miller, Weinstein told Stern that he did not own a gun and had a great distaste for them. So what does he suggest? Take them away from everyone else as well.
“I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” the producer said. “I think the NRA is a disaster area.
Mr. Weinstein then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this, but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”
When Stern asked if this movie would be a documentary Weinstein answered no , that it would be a “big movie like a ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’ So at least we know it will be full of twisted facts and Hollywood style myths that have shaped what the simple-minded think of gun owners.
Weinstein went on to say that his vision was to scare as many people as possible in making them fear guns. After all, guns are the problem in this country, not the people holding them.
“Gun stocks — I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn,” Weinsten said.
I wonder if this movie will point out the fact that the very founding of the NRA was to protect the families of freed slaves (as this viral video points out)or that gun control itself has been historically racist. No, I’m pretty sure this Obama fundraising supporter will only try to make the NRA look like the racist ones. He helped bring in half a million dollars for Obama’s campaign in 2012. Fancy that.
Mr. Weinstein thinks guns are necessary for self-defense, but only in other countries, during genocides and if the weapon is not personally owned.
Mr. Stern pointed out the inconsistencies in Mr. Weinstein’s earlier comments about a project about Jews defending themselves during the Holocaust. The producer replied that the justification for using a gun is “when you’re marching a half of a million people into Auschwitz.”
Mr. Weinstein does not seem to know that the Nazis were able to confiscate the guns that the Jewish people owned based on Germany’s government registry.
Looks like this movie producer has been watching too many movies instead of putting his nose in the real world or at least a history book. But with more people going out and buying guns than ever before, it will be interesting to see what the response is to this movie, which is sure to be a complete misrepresentation of the NRA.
