Apparently the NFL does not even want advertisers TALKING about a 2nd amendment right that is in our constitution.
Last week we reported on the NFL banning a commercial by Daniel Defense. The ad merely showed a military man returning home to his wife and child with a voice over talking about protecting his family.
Not a single gun was even shown on camera and guns were not even mentioned, but the Daniel Defense logo at the end of the commercial did show the silhouetted image of a rifle.
So Daniel Defense decided to send the NFL another option which removed the company’s logo and instead inserted an American flag and the phrase “Shall not be infringed”. But it seems that quoting from our nation’s constitution also violates the NFL’s “policies” which seem to be getting more political all the time.
The NFL has not been specific at all in it’s banning of this commercial, but has instead referred to it’s generic rules which they interpret in any way that continues to distance themselves fro gun owners.
According to a statement from FOX to Daniel Defense, “Unfortunately, we cannot accept your commercial in football/Super Bowl spots due to the rules the NFL itself has set into place for your company’s category.”
So twice this commercial has been banned by an NFL that allows for movie trailers and video games depicting all kinds of gun violence, but the league thinks that a man saying he wants to protect his family is offensive. Or maybe they just think “Shall not be infringed” is offensive.
Either way, it’s clear that the NFL’s feeble attempt to avoid controversy has backfired as gun owners across the country are outraged by the banning of this ad. We are trying to get as many eyeballs to see this commercial since the NFL will not allow the biggest game’s viewers to see it.
