Here is another story for those anti-gun activists that think gun owners who think they can use their guns to defend themselves live in a fantasy land. The woman in this story has had to use her gun TWICE in a short 4 month period to stop an intruder, and this kind of thing DOES happen and it happens all the time.
A Toledo woman held a man at gunpoint and waited for the police to arrive after catching the intruder on her property.
According to 13abc.com Betty Collins heard something on the porch in the middle of the night and that’s when she grabbed her gun.
“Around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning Betty heard something outside her home on Loxley near Upton. That’s when she found 21-year-old Thomas Lee Johnson on her porch. says he was trying to steal one of the bikes chained to the porch. Betty says her car had also been gone through.”
When the criminal did not leave right away but remained on the porch Betty pulled out her 357 Magnum and ordered the criminal to get on the ground.
“He dropped down to his knees,” Betty says, “I said, put your hands behind your head and get down flat. He’s like, I ain’t gonna and I says, year you are. So he did and he stayed there until the cops got there, he had no choice.”
How compliant do you think this crook would have been if Betty did not have a gun? Do you think he would have gotten on the ground and waited for police? No, we didn’t think so either. So the fact that she was a gun owner made all the difference here and her 357 Magnum is the reason another criminal is off the streets.
But these things hardly ever happen right? Well that’s what the anti-gun crowd wants you to believe. But the truth is that back in May Betty held another man at gunpoint after he tried to break into her house.
