Pastor Kenneth of the Living God Ministries in Northeast Oklahoma shot at a man who he caught burglarizing the church on Wednesday. The man was arrested shortly the incident after.
Here is what happened from in order from beginning to end. The pastor, whose name was not immediately released, heard someone inside the church while he was there. That is when he confronted a man in the act of burglarizing the church. He drew his weapon, walked him out to the front lawn, and waited for police to respond.
“The pastor held the burglar at gunpoint. He laid down in the grass (and) at some point then decided to run off as we were arriving, and the pastor fired two shots at the burglar. The burglar was not hit,” OK City police Lt. Holland said.
Thankfully, the pastor had and used his conceal carry license. Unfortunately the pastor missed the suspect with both shots. The only reason that the man was apprehended so quickly was because of the neighbors that spotted him trying to hide in their yard. Police were already on scene next door.
The church’s Facebook page said, “All is well; Pastor Kenny is fine. Praise God. Prayer, Bible study, and full story at 7:00.”
There are two things that we can learn from this story. First lesson is that thieves will break into anywhere in the middle of the day (including churches) because of the number of people unarmed from gun control laws and stipulations. Second lesson is that even if you are a man of God and carry, everyone that exercises their Second Amendment right needs to take the time to go to the range and get accurate.
