About a year ago Oklahoma legalized the open carrying of firearms for those who have a valid permit to do so, but now a Republican Oklahoma senator is pushing for gun rights in the state that go one step further.
Senator Nathan Dahm filed a bill last week that will allow law abiding gun owners to open carry or conceal carry their firearms in all the same places that are allowed now, but without the need of a permit. After all, as we have said before, the 2nd amendment IS our gun permit.
Local news reports reveal that the senator is fed up with all the red tape in assuming gun owners are guilty before a crime is ever committed.
“The Second Amendment says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, and yet when we require our citizens to jump through hoops, pay fees and undergo a process that presumes they’re guilty of something until proven otherwise, their rights are being infringed upon,” Dahm explained.
“Senate Bill 1473 simply says Oklahomans can carry firearms in all the places currently allowed by law, but they will no longer be required to obtain a license to do so,” he continued.
So what’s the name of this bill? Glad you asked. Senate bill 1473 has a name that was sure to grab the attention of a certain CNN anchor who regularly exposes his ignorance of facts and American history. The official name of the bill is…
The Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act
But the senator did not have to put it in bold to grab the gun-banner’s attention. It was not long before Morgan went to Twitter to throw down a challenge to Senator Dahm to have him on the show.

@piersmorgan Received the email invite from your producer. Working out the details but it looks like Monday evening. We can discuss it then.

So it looks like Dahm will be descending to the lowly levels of Piers Morgan for yet another rumpus debate. I’m sure Piers Morgan takes issue with the bill being named after him, especially since he has been so anti-gun that even most anti-gunners try to stay away from his comments.
But if you’re going to name a bill that allows for the constitutional rights of Americans to be exercised after anyone, it might as well be the guy who said that both the Bible and the American constitution are inherently flawed. Someone never got over 1776 it looks like.
I’m sure I won’t be tuning in to CNN on Monday to help Piers pad his ratings, but I will be sure to watch and post the replay so stay tuned.
