How many stories of pharmacies getting robbed at gunpoint have we seen in the last month? The trend continues to rise.
KY3 News reported nn Branson Missouri that a man tried to rob a pharmacy at gunpoint on Tuesday morning, and ended up being wounded in a shootout with a pharmacy employee. The suspected robber is now being treated at the hospital here.
The attempted robbery was about 10:50 a.m. at the Family Pharmacy at 225 Cross Creek Boulevard, off Missouri 76 east of Branson. Employees said a man pointed a handgun at them and demanded pills. An employee armed with his own handgun confronted the robber and fired one shot at him.
The wannabe robber fled and fired several shots as he ran from the store. He fled westbound in a vehicle, which employees described to a 9-1-1 emergency call-taker.
Taney County sheriff’s deputies started looking for that vehicle. A deputy drove through the Academy Commons Apartment Complex on East Missouri 76 and met a vehicle matching the description of the robber’s vehicle. He immediately stopped the vehicle and arrested the man who was driving and a female passenger.

Investigators released the woman after concluding that she was not part of the robbery.
The suspect is a 33-year-old man who lives in Branson after moving here from Colorado.
