In Pitt County North Carolina, a man named Joshua Chamberlain stormed into Falkland Mini Mart thinking he was going to earn some quick cash. The store owner had different plans.
As Joshua entered the store he had a pistol drawn and pointed it at the owner demanding cash from the safe. Rocky the store’s owner went to grab his 40 caliber pistol for defense. The only thing that Rocky didn’t know, was that the would be robber only had an airsoft pistol.
Rocky said “My first instinct was just to draw my weapon and fire on him,” said the store owner, who goes by Rocky. “Go home with my family tonight.””I wanted to secure his weapon.” “So I just wanted to make sure this guy was secured and didn’t pose a threat to us.”
According to the local police Joshua Chamberlain ran to his house after being shot, and called the police saying that he had been in a car accident. However, the gun shot wound and the eye witness matched the description, and investigators arrested him shortly after arriving.
The Deputies say that Joshua was in Vidant Medical Center recovering from overnight surgery and that he is likely to recover from his shoulder wound.Unfortunately, the owners friend was also hit from the shots fired, but is recovering well.
