An LA Times (I hate even linking to them) article entitled “Santa Monica gunman had ‘fascination with guns’ friend says” really tells you everything you need to know about the mainstream media and the gun control debate issue.
This is just another attempt to take away the responsibility from the shooter who shot and killed 5 people in Santa Monica and put the blame on all of us “gun-totin 2nd amendment supporters”.
The title was not, “Gunman has serious mental health issues” or “Gunman’s mental health issues lead to shooting spree”. Those titles would not help push forward their agenda to paint every gun owner who has too many guns or who has a gun “fascination” with guns as a menace to society.
They emphasis the fact that the gunman had an assortment of guns and rifle magazines to try to link THAT point as to WHY this happened. So then every gun owner who has more than one gun and a cache of ammo is also a threat.
From the article:
The friend, who asked not to be identified, said John Zawahri, 24, had “a fascination with guns. We were all worried about it…. Everyone is wondering where he got the money for the weapons.”
So the anonymous friend’s worry was NOT that Zawahri had mental health issues as has been reported. The friend was just concerned that the gunman really liked guns. It’s this kind of ideology that makes the simpletons wary of any gun owners. After all, maybe everyone should be worried about anyone who has a fascination with guns, right? And all along the REAL problems are being ignored, because the gun control crowd would rather examine the gun itself rather than the actual shooter.
Of course this is not surprising, as the mainstream media will never waste a tragedy but will find a way to use it to push their agenda through, even if they have to twist the facts and ignore those inconvenient truths.
