Even though we are told by the anti-gunners that AR-15’s are “assault rifles” which only belongs on the battlefield we keep reporting on stories where regular citizens used this style of gun to save lives
You will notice in the referenced article that the writer does not call this gun an “assault rifle” even though it’s the EXACT same kind of gun that the media loves to attach to this moniker. So why is it an assault rifle when a a citizen uses it and just a patrol rifle when a cop uses it?
So here’s the story:
A 35-year-old man who was reportedly waving a gun at a bus stop in Sodo late Monday night was critically injured after being shot at least once by a Seattle police officer with a rifle, Seattle police said.
The armed man, who was taken to Harborview Medical Center , was shot in the chest while standing at the bus stop on the northwest corner of First Avenue South and South Hanford Street, according to police and emergency radio communications.
The shooting occurred at about 9:40 p.m., and was witnessed by at least two civilians, said Seattle Detective Jeff Kappel.
Kappel said police responded to emergency calls of a man with a gun at the bus stop. When the first officer arrived, he saw a person walking away from the man.
The man continued waving the gun in the officer’s presence, and one of the officers at the scene shot him with a .223-caliber rifle, Kappel said.
Even the news reporter is afraid to call it an AR-15, instead referring to the guns caliber. Perhaps the major news outlets are relying on their readers to be ignorant on guns, hoping they don’t put 2 and 2 together.
So why was this rifle used instead of just a handgun? I mean no on NEEDS an AR-15 right? But when precision counts and lives are on the line, it’s no time for politics to get in the way of a bad guy and his destiny.
