North Carolina Central University has a strict “No Gun” policy on its campus for students and faculty. This policy is supposed to be in place to keep everyone safe, because apparently the best way to keep someone safe is to make them defenseless.
But Tuesday night an armed criminals ignored that policy and did not even stop to read those “gun free zone” signs.
According to the Huffington Post,
The armed man had committed at least two robberies, and was in possession of weapons he stole from a residence. He brought a shotgun with him onto the grounds of the historically black college in Durham.
The entire college campus went into lockdown as the criminal and police engaged in a shoot out, leaving the armed criminal (whom we can only assume is illiterate since he ignored the signs) dead after a 45 minute gunfight.
The Daily Caller helped point out that North Carolina Central University’s handbook spells out exactly how far the “no-gun” policy goes on the campus.
The handbook reads, “The possession of firearms (including BB guns), ammunition, bows and arrows, knives, razors and other dangerous weapons is not permitted in the residence halls or throughout the campus.”
This is further proof that criminals will not only continually have access to guns but they will also ignore those pesky little things called laws. This gunman stole the gun from a gun owner, and if anti-gunners want to believe their pipe-dream that gun control works, they will only want to go to the next step and take guns away from the law abiding as well. After all, if that gun owner did not own a firearm, the criminal would not have been able to steal it right?
In fact, in some states where recent gun control has been passed this resident would actually be guilty of a crime if he did not report his stolen firearm right away. So hope this gun owner was not on vacation when the robbery took place.
College students and faculty were not allowed to defend themselves, so it’s a good thing the good guys with the guns showed up to take this dangerous criminals out. Instead the students were told to “shelter in place” until the situation was over.
Do you think law abiding citizens should be allowed to carry guns on college campuses? Leave a comment below to let us know, even though it seems like a rhetorical question. Even if you disagree we don’t mind some civil discourse.
