The governor of Georgia has a decision to make. His state has passed a bill that provides gun owners with more constitutional rights to carry their guns in public places. And while the anti-gun movement goes into complete hysteria over this bill, their reasons for being nervous are really not founded on common sense or facts.
Georgia awaits the signature of Governor Nathan Deal to sign the pro gun legislation that some gun grabbers are calling the “guns everywhere bill”. The legislation allows for gun owners to carry their guns in bars, schools, restaurants, churches and airports.
The group started by anti-gun supporter Gabrielle Giffords called the bill the most extreme gun bill in America” and the “guns everywhere” legislation. The NRA has called it the most comprehensive pro gun bill in recent state history.
After the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut some states went to work on pushing through an anti-gun agenda with the Sandy Hook victims as the backdrop. But other states that actually know the US constitution got tired of innocent children being used as pawns to strip away 2nd amendment rights and began enacting gun laws that provided more liberties for American citizens.
The Georgia bill is the result of backlash against fears of more gun control being forced upon American citizens. And with threats from the president and his executive orders to mandate more gun control measures, many gun owners are touting the Georgia bill as a major win.
Gun grabbers across American are lining up against the bill saying that with guns in all these places there will be no safe place left in Georgia. But they don’t even realize how irrational their fears are.
There have already been shootings in bars, restaurants, school, churches and airports. Yes, even with laws to prevent shootings in these “safe zones” they have still happened? Why is this? Because criminals break the law. That’s why they are called criminals. And disarming law abiding citizens does not make them safer when these shootings take place.
Statistics have already shown that the number of deaths in mass shootings is dramatically reduced when armed citizens stop the shooter instead of waiting for law enforcement to do it.
In fact, in mass shooting situations, the number of dead when the police stop the shooter is 14.29 on average. When armed citizens stop the mass shooter the casualties fall to only 2.33.
You can expect ant-gun advocates to ignore these facts while trying to create paranoia and fear that gun owners will just be randomly shooting people and waving their guns in the air. But this is not reality.
The truth of the matter is that if a person with ill intent wants to bring a gun to a church or a school or a bar, the law will not stop him. What will stop him is an armed citizen who is allowed by law to bring that gun wherever his constitutional rights allow.
