The gun control lemings always like to use the argument that if the founding father’s knew about large capacity magazines or fast repeating rifles they would have repealed the 2nd amendment. After all, they only had muskets at the time the 2nd amendment was written right? And they never could have imagined a rifle that could shoot more than 1 round a minute.
Well, we don’t expect the anti-gun crowd to really pay attention to history, so they probably have no idea a gun existed back then that could fire 22 shots in under 30 seconds. Actually, I should say the rifle “shoots” and doesn’t “fire” because it was an air rifle, an air rifle the native Americans feared because it was accurate, lethal (being able to shoot through 1 inch pine board at 100 yards), and it was a very fast repeating rifle for the time.
This is a great video explaining this very specific rifle used by Lewis and Clarke in their expedition and how it was one of the most influential rifle’s in our nation’s history.
Share this video with any of your friends and family who still think the founding fathers were clueless and maybe you can help educate them on how this country was formed at the same time.
I would love to shoot a replica of this gun to test it out. Leave any comments below.
