This story is another defensive gun use that will get lumped together with all the other gun related homicides. When anti-gunners tout their twisted statistics on guns undoubtedly a story like which involves a gun saving a woman’s life and stopping an attacker who sexually assaulted her will just be counted as another death due to gun violence. Watch VIDEO below.
A 60-year-old Kansas City woman shot and killed an intruder who forced his way into her home and sexually assaulted her, Kansas City Star reports.
The woman heard a knock at the door, and when she went to answer it a man in his 20’s asked to see a woman who did not live there. When the female resident tried to close the door the man forced his way into her home.
Once inside, the man, who was later identified as 24-year-old Paul J. Williams, forced the woman to her bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
Following the assault, Williams went towards the kitchen and that’s when the woman, who is in her late 60s but has not been identified by name, grabbed her revolver.
According to the woman, Williams started to come towards her again, so she shot him once and he immediately collapsed. A neighbor heard the gunshot then saw the woman walk out of her home, asking for help.
At 1:30 am the police arrived on the scene to find the intruder’s body inside the woman’s home. The woman was detained by police for questioning but was later released.
Williams has had a history of crime and was just released from prison after serving time for one burglary and two robbery convictions from 2006. When he was 17, he was also accused of using a tire iron to break into a home and stealing $400 in cash and two laptops.
Again, this is being classified as a homicide which will be the city’s 94th this year. But it seems it would serve the ill-informed better if we actually classified DGU’s (Defensive Gun Uses) distinct from homicides. But since the Mayors Against Illegal Guns likes to memorialize terrorists to push for more gun control I’m sure they will also memorialize thugs like this as well.
