The owner of University Market in Minneapolis, Minnesota is very thankful for a gun carrying citizen who staved off a robbery with his firearm. (watch VIDEO at bottom of post)
Notice that in this story it was not the law that sent the armed robbers running. It was not even the locked doors. It was a law abiding citizen with a gun who was willing to use it that sent two hoodied crooks running for their lives.
According to KMSP in Minneapolis,
“I was actually panicked inside the store,” Mohamed Ahmed, owner of University Market. “You don’t see that every day.”
Even though it was cold outside, Ahmed admits he had a bad feeling when two men came into his store with their hoods up and their faces partially covered.
“I was going to ask him to pull his hoodie up, but I’m expecting something then going wrong,” he recalled.
As it turned out, Ahmed’s gut feeling was right. After wandering around for a couple minutes and asking strange questions, the pair made their move.
“The one on my right hand came around the counter with the gun in his hand pointed at me, and the other one jumped on top of the counter,” Ahmed said.
While one robber went for the cash in the register, the other began rifling through Ahmed’s pockets. When the clerk started to fight back, he got pistol whipped in the head. Fortunately, Ahmed still managed to chase the men out of his store, lock the door and call 911.
Yet, that didn’t stop the armed robbers — until they were confronted by an equally well-armed citizen.
“All I know is the situation that I saw was two individuals who were extremely agitated, very angry, trying to get in the store — and one of them had a firearm,” he said.
Bosser, who once studied law enforcement and has a permit to carry, pulled a gun of his own and sent the two men running.
“I un-holstered my weapon. I kept it close; I kept it at a ready,” he said.
Once the two robbers had fled, Bosser convinced Ahmed the threat was gone and helped administer first aid until police arrived.
The store owner needed half a dozen staples to his head as a result of the armed robber pistol whipping him. When Bosser convinced the store owner Ahmed that the threat was gone he administered first aid to Ahmed who was covered in blood.
“If somebody comes with a gun at you, he can do anything with a gun,” Ahmed said. “This is not for fun. This is serious. Somebody come for your life. Like, you give them whatever they want or they going to shoot you. It’s sad but true.”
This was not the first time that Bosser had to use his gun to stop someone from getting hurt. He used his firearm a few years ago to stop a man from being beaten to death. In that instance he did not have to fire a shot either, as just the presence of a firearm can sometimes be enough to deter or stop a crime.
