The Buckeye Firearms Foundation has raised $12,000 for George Zimmerman in light of the many death threats that he has received. The group says the money is not just for Zimmerman to buy a gun if he so chooses, but it’s intended to help him get more security training and a security system at his home so his family will be safe as well.

Hanson makes a great point that when you are on the ground getting your brains bashed in you don’t have much of an option to retreat. And no matter what you think of the Zimmerman trial, to use this instance to say we should get rid of Stand Your Ground laws is simply outside of the realm of logical thinking. It’s been proven time and time again that these Stand Your Ground laws are used by blacks, elderly, and women the most. So if someone is against the right to protect themselves against bodily harm or death it has to make you question if they are against these groups or just against the right to live in general.
