A pizza delivery driver in Redford, Michigan turned the tables on an armed robber and saved his own life in the process, according to ABC 15.
It looks like this entire thing was a setup as the homeowners of the house to which the pizza was to be delivered said they never ordered any pizza. A nearby witness, James Wethers, said he heard 3 gunshots just after 11:pm and looked out his window seeing a man face down in the driveway across the street.
The pizza delivery guy told Wethers that an armed assailant had a gun to his head and “he had to shoot the guy” with the gun he carried with him.
Redford Township police say the pizza delivery driver opened fire as he was being robbed by 20-year-old Tajuan Boyd.
Boyd was later pronounced dead at a Michigan hospital.
Witnesses say they saw a possible accomplice speeding away from the scene after the shooting.
Police have not released much more information on this story, but the pizza delivery guy has not been charged for this defensive gun use.
The anti-gun crowd would say to just give the robber what he wants and hope he does not shoot, but if an armed criminal holds a gun to your head you have to assume he is willing and ready to use it. Leaving it up to the bad guys to determine if we live or die is not a policy that leaves us in very good hands. As they teach in any gun training course, never point a gun at anything you are not willing to shoot and destroy.
