The Colorado legislature is composed of Democrats that have recently slapped gun owners in the face with their most recent gun control laws. But gun owners are not willing to wait until the next election to show these lawmakers what a mistake they have made. They want action now.
The new laws in Colorado ban any magazines that can hold more than 15 rounds or can be modified to hold more than 15 rounds. They also require background check for every gun transfer, even if a father wants to pass on his gun to his son.
Two groups in Colorado are pushing for a recall election and specifically are going after state Rep. Mike McLachlan and state Sens. Angela Giron, Evie Hudak and John Morse.
State law requires that the groups must come up with 25% of the vote count to sign the petition in order to trigger a special election.
According to the group’s website:
“We need to collect at minimum 11,500 validated signatures from registered voters within Colorado Senate District 3 in order to initiate a recall vote on Angela Giron.”
Fox News reported that Evie Hudak has really riled up gun owners with her comments on rape and gun ownership:
“Hudak angered gun-rights advocates and others, beyond her support for tighter firearms control, because of a comment to a rape victim testifying against a bill that would have banned concealed weapons on college campuses.
She suggested the attacker might have used the gun on the woman had she been carrying a concealed weapon, saying “statistics are not on your side even if you had a gun.”
Something that Angela Giron said is not helping her cause and has riled up gun owners in seeking to initiate a recall election. Giron has said,
“There are limits on the right to bear arms and that it’s not an absolute right.”
And of course who determines what the limit is? That’s where we have a problem. And voters in CO have until May 21st to come up with the signatures on the petition in order to get the recall election process started.
It’s’ about time these lawmakers remember who they work for. This isn’t an easy thing to remind a heavily democratic legislature in CO, but just making them scared of losing their jobs even a little is a step in the right direction.

So time to get busy CO voters! Remember, once they take your gun rights you never get them back.
